Here's the thing: I don't generally care for screaming in my music. I have no logical reason why I completely dig it in the music of Billy Talent. To be fair, it's not really screaming; it's more like screeching. Somehow, it works. Their sound is totally unique; it's driven by killer licks and hooks and a voice that just won't let go. I came across these guys on XM's The Verge channel, who play a shitload of great Canadian rock. I'm not sure Billy Talent has much of a shot in the US, despite having two very successful albums out and holding quite a few Juno awards (like the Canadian Grammys, except not complete horseshit), because Americans are stupid and mindless. But hey, there's always hope. Check them out for yourself and help turn back the tide of dumb.
